A marked national growth in acute, severe and enduring cases of eating disorders has prompted Care UK to expand its service offering with the acquisition of a renowned acute hospital that specialises in the treatment of children and adolescents suffering from anorexia, bulimia and similar conditions.

Expansion for Althea Park - Sunday 1 January 2006
Althea Park Services, Care UK's eating disorders and self harm business, has expanded with the opening of Ashleigh House, a new 10-bed centre for adults suffering from eating disorders such as anorexia nervosa and bulimia. The Centre in Stroud provides a residential alternative to hospital treatment.
NIHME Positive Practice Award - Saturday 1 October 2005
Maplewood Independent Hospital operated by Care UK, along with other mental health providers in Coventry, have been presented with a Highly Commended Award for Positive Practice in Mental Health in the 'Integrated health and social care planning' category from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMHE).
