Find out what some residents and families have to say about their time in Asterbury Place;

The staff have everything up there, cinema, hair dresser, restaurants etc. They got to know me by my first name. My wife is well looked after.

Mr Percy Ambrose - August 2018

The staff were friendly and we felt at home when we arrived. My mother is very happy in the home. The staff are very capable. My mother always likes to look nice and has her hair done in the home. Staff make her feel special. My mother’s clothes are laundered and pressed. Staff do her nails and her feet. My mother went into the home in February and within a week she was settled, the staff made her feel welcome and safe. Staff look after her kindly; it's like a family there.

Relative of a resident - June 2018

The management of the home is first class. Both the manager and deputy manager make themselves available when needed. Staff take the time to talk to my father and understand him and generally care for him.

S.Smith (son of resident) - June 2018

My relative’s room is always clean and tidy. The staff always let me know what’s going on. I’m quite happy with the home, if I ask for anything it is dealt with.

Relative of resident, February 2018

The staff have always got time for my husband. There is someone who is always stopping by to say hello to him and he is being consistently cared for and looked after.

Relative of a resident, November 2017

Mum has dementia and they keep activities going for her and know her background. They can relate to her. They love her… They're absolutely brilliant.

Relative of a resident, November 2017

If you’re worried about anything you have only got to go see one of the staff and they will explain, keep in touch with you and let you know right away of any changes.

Relative of a resident, August 2017

The staff like [my brothers] friends, they make him feel welcome, they helped him fit in… They treat the residents like family.

Relative of a resident, May 2017

To hear [dad] speak about the staff reassures me he is happy as he always speaks highly of them. I know he is very happy [at Asterbury Place]. He was a very active man before he had a stroke but he knows that everyone is there to help him the best they can.

Relative of a resident, May 2017

I think the place is excellent.

On behalf of all the family, I would like to thank each and every one of you for the great care you took of dear Ray.  It was given with such compassion, respect and dignity. You all had so much patience and I know he must have been quite difficult at times.

It was always reassuring to see this and to hear from you how Ray was on our visits; to learn that he was especially chatty in the mornings and still his cheeky self was a joy.

Thanks also to Garry and the kitchen staff for the way that they care for the residents but also for the care shown to all our family especially in those last difficult days.

Thank you all.

June Collins – wife of Ray Collins – 4th May 2015
