Joleen Rayner

Home Manager

Joleen Rayner

I’m an experienced Nurse and Home Manager and I’m passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for the people we care for.

I believe that great care is about going beyond what is expected to make the difference to residents’ lives.

I also think it’s important to take a caring approach to colleagues, supporting them to do their best work and to fulfil their potential in the workplace. It’s our people who make all the difference and help us to deliver superb care, so if they’re happy, our residents are too.

I’m very proud of Grangewood’s strong links with the local community and I’m always keen to enhance these so that residents can continue to feel a part of local life and enjoy a lovely lifestyle. One of my favourite parts of the day is chatting to residents and listening to their life stories. There’s so much we can learn from the older generation.

I have an open door policy, so if there’s anything you’d like to know about Grangewood and the care we provide, please do get in touch.

Faye Anderson
Lifestyle Lead

I was keen to join Care UK because the organisation’s ethos of putting residents at the heart of everything echoed my own personal values. Previously, I’ve worked for another care provider, as well as in primary education as a dementia champion running intergenerational activities. Gaining this role has been a huge career highlight for me.

In this role it’s important to be positive, to be larger than life and be determined to take a risk and try new things. I adore everything about my working day, making a resident smile. It fulfils their life and mine.

I’m looking forward to developing my role and to help every resident get the most out of their day, finding out what they like to do so I can organise enjoyable activities and experiences for them.

Callum Anderson
Head Chef

I started working in the kitchen at Care UK straight from school, and I enjoyed working for a big, warm and friendly care provider. I’ve worked in a number of roles in care, including Kitchen Assistant, Carer, Laundry and now Head Chef.

Seeing people enjoy my food while they chat to each other makes me proud of what I do. Making my first Christmas dinner for all the residents was a big career highlight.

My job is to keep the cooking up to a high standard, and it’s important to be organised, compassionate, caring and respectful in this role. I like to keep the kitchen tidy and clean and experiment with making new dishes for everyone to enjoy.

When I’m not working, I enjoy walking my dog Lexi and spending time on the computer.

Kim Cleaver
Business Administrator

I enjoy the way my role combines the need for good business knowledge and skills with the softer elements of compassion and respect, and I love the fact I work in such a lovely place with amazing people.

The morning is my favourite time of day because I’m always welcomed by residents and we have a chat. It’s a great way to start your day! I like juggling different tasks and supporting colleagues and residents in any way I can. Part of my role involves ensuring the home is fully compliant in all areas of HR, training and finance. There’s a lot to do and to keep on top of, but no two days are the same, which is what I like.

I’m looking forward to continuing to do my best for residents, their families and my colleagues.

Norma Wright
Head Housekeeper

I’m an experienced housekeeper and I joined Grangewood back in 2014 after I’d heard so many good things about the home and Care UK as a whole. I love what I do and I look forward to coming in every morning, leaving my troubles at the door and focusing on doing my best for the residents. What is wonderful about this job is that you can truly make a difference to so many people every day.

My housekeeping team is key to infection prevention and control because we’re here to keep everything clean and hygienic. However, this has to be everyone’s responsibility too. I’ve enjoyed developing my skills and knowledge as IPC Champion, and I’m proud to be doing my bit to enhance people’s understanding of what they have to do to keep everyone safe.
