Meet our friendly care team

Managers, carers, nurses, chefs, maintenance people, administrators and housekeepers – it takes a lot of dedicated and talented people to keep Heather View running smoothly and our residents happy and cared for. Here you can meet some of our lovely colleagues and learn about what makes them tick.

Natasha King

Home Manager

Natasha King

I’m passionate about my role and the home.

I like to see lots of smiles and interaction with staff and residents. A good working day for me is to know that I have given my all to my team and to residents, knowing that they have all had a good day and that the care they’ve received has been the best.

Before joining Heather View I’d worked in independent care homes for ten years. I wanted to stay in the care sector while developing my skills and career. Care UK really helps you to progress – I actually started as a senior care assistant but was offered a promotion to deputy manager. At the end of 2017, I was incredibly proud and happy to be offered the role of home manager.

I think my proudest moments at Care UK were being nominated for the Team Leader of the Year award in the Care UK Residential Care Services Awards, and then being promoted to my current role. I’m now really looking forward to continuing to make Heather View the best dementia care home in the area, delivering the best possible service.

Jerry James
Deputy Manager

I love being part of Heather View family. I enjoy the time I spend with residents, their families and my colleagues.I always strive to bring a smile to people's faces, and I'm focused on keeping the home's standards at the very highest level.

Being a nurse gives me the opportunity to help other people and to grow and develop in ways that are consistent with my values.I love being able to empower others to speak up for themselves, and to help them to live with dignity. I'm proud of the impact that I can have - I remember a resident's family member contacting me to tell me the difference I'd made to her mother throughout her time at the home. It's those moments that make what we do worthwhile.

Lisa Phillips
Customer Relations Manager

I joined Care UK in 2021 with a strong sales, events and programme management background. I was working at West Sussex County Council in schools across the country, when a friend of mine who worked for Care UK and always told me how much she loved her role said a similar role had come up at a nearby home, so I knew I should apply immediately.

As a CRM, you need to have strong people skills, including understanding and empathy, organisational skills, sales experience and the ability to multitask and work at a fast pace. I love that this role is so full on and fast paced. I enjoy the variety in the role and working with such an amazing team, families and residents.

I love helping people find a safe place for their loved ones, often at a time of crisis. I find it heart-warming that I can give comfort and understanding to people at such a stressful and often confusing time. I love seeing new residents settle in and enjoy their new lives, and it is so rewarding when they tell us how happy they are to be here.

When I'm not working, keeping myself fit and healthy is extremely important to me. I am ladies vice-captain of my local running club and enjoying running for pleasure and racing for my club. I also enjoy kick boxing and pilates on a weekly basis, along with walking and running with my cocker spaniel Jinx.

Andrea Butler
Lifestyle Lead

I’ve turned my hand to a range of different roles, including organising conferences and events across the UK and Europe, and training the over 50s in computer skills. My role at Heather View tests all my skills, from organising activities for over 60 residents to learning to drive the home’s minibus!

A big highlight for me has been a recent outing that we went on with a resident to a local stables. Horses have been her lifelong passion but she hasn’t experienced them for many years due to poor health. Seeing her joy when she interacted with them was simply incredible. I’m looking forward to continuing to bring value, a smile and fulfilment to the lives of Heather View residents.

Beth Fleming
Clinical Lead

I’m a Registered Nurse, and before joining Care UK in August 2020, I worked in A&E at Brighton University Sussex Trust. Before this, I spent my nursing career working on respiratory and specialist cardiac wards.

You need to be kind and caring, hardworking and passionate, and enthusiastic and willing to learn as a Clinical Lead. You also need to listen to others, have good time management and be good at leading a team.

I love to teach others. Learning and developing is something I have always enjoyed as it ensures best practice is upheld for all residents. I love sharing experiences with my team and helping them to manage different situations effectively.

Heather View promotes professional development, and the team has helped and supported me to develop my career. They encourage everyone to be involved in a range of learning opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends. I’m a huge pet lover and enjoy anything to do with animals. I also love surfing, so I spend a lot of time in Devon and Cornwall.

Oliver Snook
Head Chef

I joined Care UK in 2023 after spending 25 years working in various top-end establishments, including private homes, restaurants and hotels. I even worked in Brazil as a private chef to a rock star.

I enjoy the work life balance I have with Care UK, and the knowledge that a job well done is reflected in the wellbeing of the residents.

A Head Chef must have a commitment to high standards in the kitchen, an understanding that individual needs are important and good organisation skills.

I love delivering the food to the residents and meeting them with a smile every day, and I look forward to continuing to raise standards and provide a better service.

Outside of work, I like to cycle, throw boomerangs, cook and spend time doing crafts and bird watching with my kids.
