Highmarket House

The staff all seem very helpful and informative and they always try and sort things out for my father. The manager does an excellent job.

Mrs Jane Baldwin, August 2018

The atmosphere at Highmarket House was much more cosy than the other places we saw. My mother said it felt cosier and more homely.

Relative of a resident, August 2018

The home is very clean and staff are very nice. The staff are caring and very concerned and look after my relative. Staff are there for him.

Mrs Annette Tedder, August 2018

We have been very impressed and enjoyed our experience as a family at Highmarket House. Our father had four weeks respite care in July 2018 and he very much hopes to return in September 2018 as a permanent resident.

Son of resident, August 2018

Highmarket House is a lovely home where the residents are really well looked after. In addition to their own room, there is a wide section of other lounges together with dining rooms, activities room, cinema and hair salon, so there is always somewhere to go to spend time with the other residents and staff. Many activities are offered, including craft work, cooking, dancing and visiting entertainers and musicians. The food is good and there is always tea, coffee and cake available for residents and visitors.

The staff are excellent, always having time for that extra chat with residents as well as supporting them. They appear to enjoy their work, and also work well together. Care is delivered with patience, in a professional and respectful manner, while engaging with and entertaining the residents.

I could not have asked for a better home for my Grandmother! She has only been at Highmarket House for a little over a month, but she has lived a more fulfilled life in the last month than she has in the last few years. She is happy, settled, well cared for and engaged. She has baked cakes, been for walks in the park most days, been dancing and also fitted in a visit to her favourite animals at the local bird sanctuary. The staff are really caring and make sure the activities are varied and even tailor them to the interests of the residents.

The home itself is beautiful and welcoming, there is always a cup of tea and a piece of cake on offer and it is a pleasure to visit my grandmother and spend time with her. The home and the staff have become an extension of my family in such a short amount of time - the world would be a better place if more care homes were like this one! Who said getting old and living with Alzheimer's had to be boring - not Highmarket House that's for sure.

My mother has  been in Highmarket House care home since January and I just wanted to say how pleased we are with the services we get – the food and every aspect of the home – it has a lovely feel and all the staff and carers are first class, nothing is too much trouble.

Sheena Hughes, daughter of resident – June 2018

Brilliant place. Cleanliness very good.  Good, clean toilets – and plentiful.  Lovely rooms, very good staff – helpful and friendly. Plenty of entertainment.

Judy Lilley, resident – June 2018

Beautiful place with lovely views.  Everything is at such a high standard.  Very clean with en suite and love the rooms with a patio table and chairs – great for sitting in the sun.

Food is to a high standard and love the fresh cakes offered on arrival and lovely drinks.  Staff are amazing – couldn’t ask for better carers, they all love their jobs – always happy, welcoming feel.

I feel very happy my mother is a resident here as I know she’s safe and looked after to a high standard, and this gives all my family peace of mind

Clara Lilley, daughter of resident – June 2018

Amazing environment for residents – like a hotel!  Rooms are decorated to a high standard – all en suite.  Carers are on call 24 hours and very attentive to residents at all times. Well-kept outdoor areas, gardens and patio areas.

Trips and regular entertainment for the residents.  Meals are fresh and served in a restaurant environment with colourful, inviting crockery and service. All very clean and nothing is too much.

Guests, (daughter) are treated equally well and are welcomed with a friendly face, cake and a choice of drinks!  My mother has picked-up amazing having her medication regularly, food and encouragement.

Sally-Ann Lilley, daughter of resident – June 2018

To all who work at Highmarket House - I cannot praise you highly enough for the care and compassion you have all shown to Brian and myself.  We felt loved and cherished by all the staff without exception.  The attention to detail, the admin used was so professional and the general affection of all the staff made my life so much easier. We could not have found a better place. As well as all of the above, there was always fun and laughter which helped to lighten the difficult situations.  When staff choose to see residents and ex-residents outside their own hours just shows how much they care.  They take on a personal attachment which is over and above what is expected of them.

May you all go from strength to strength.   With much love and grateful thanks.

Hazel and Lindsay Frazer – April 2018

There is a nice atmosphere, it is welcoming and there are friendly faces when you walk in. There are cosy light and airy rooms.

Relative of a resident, February 2018

Just a note to say a very big thank you for all the care and attention you have shown to Brian over the last two weeks.

I very much appreciated my rest and enjoyed it, knowing Brian was being looked after so well.

Thank you once again.
