Charity is a piece of cake for local care homes

Home news

Two local care homes whisked up more than £650 for charity after taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning recently.

The Care UK teams at Silversprings in Thorrington and Colne View in Halstead, opened the doors to the care homes for coffee mornings to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The local communities dropped in to the care homes and enjoyed a leisurely cuppa and homemade cakes, all of which were available for a donation to the charity.

Omar Taylor, home manager at Colne View, said: “We want to say a big thank you to everyone that came along to both coffee mornings and helped us raise a combined total of more than £650 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

“It was great to join forces with the local community and give something back to a charity which focuses on helping and supporting people in the community.”
