Clara Court care home invites people in Maidenhead to celebrate Care Home Open Day

Care UK’s Clara Court care home in Maidenhead, is inviting local people to visit the home on Courthouse Road on Friday 17th June to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

From 2pm-4pm, the team at Clara Court will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities. 

The theme of this year’s event at Clara Court is a carnival fiesta inspired by the Rio Olympics. Residents and visitors will be able to join in the fun and games of a ‘mini Olympics’, there will be live entertainment to get everyone in the party spirit and with the Care UK team will be dressed in carnival-themed outfits. 

Debbie Winwood, home manager at Clara Court, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives our residents through building lasting relationships with the local community across the generations.  

“Opening our doors is also a great opportunity to show what life is really like in a modern care home; and we hope to change any preconceptions people might have while also showing everything Clara Court has to offer. 

“We have got a fun day of activities planned and are really looking forward to getting behind Care Home Open Day on Friday 17th June and welcoming the people of Maidenhead to be a part of it.” 

Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at Clara Court will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s Eating as we Age.  The latest in a series of free guides for family carers, Eating as we age is packed with hints and tips for keeping healthy and hydrated in older age.  The guide can also be downloaded free at www.careuk.com/eat
