Darlington Court takes centre stage to celebrate their 20th anniversary

Home news

Relatives, residents and the care team at Darlington Court care home in Littlehampton celebrated their 20th anniversary on Tuesday 29th September with a fabulous 1920’s movie event.

The celebrations began with afternoon tea which was taken in the dining room, along with cream teas, traditional scones and sandwiches. There was live entertainment from the girls at ‘Party Time Productions’, who sang, danced and told the stories of the Wizard of Oz star Judy Garland and American actress and singer Doris Day. The residents thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were all singing along.

Care UK Residential Care Services managing director Andrew Knight joined in the celebrations and presented a 20 year long service award to Registered Nurse Sally Munn and Carer Sue Tippler. Peter Liles also received a 20 year award and a red Ferrari remote control car. Later on in the day a buffet style dinner was served which was enjoyed by all the guests.

Julie Bartholomew, customer relations manager at Darlington Court, said “What a fantastic day! There was a great atmosphere of celebration and reminiscing. This was the first celebration I have had the pleasure to be a part of at Darlington Court, the bar has been set very high! The day was well planned and organised to a tee. It was great to see the pleasure and excitement on the faces of all the residents, their relatives and the care team as the day unfolded, so much so that everybody has been talking about it since.”

Fiona Wiederkehr, home manager at Darlington Court, said “As the newly appointed home manager this was our first celebration that I have been responsible for organising. It was brilliant to see how involved and engaged everybody was. This made for a fantastic atmosphere and ever lasting memories which will be remembered as a landmark in Darlington Court history.

Darlington Court will be opening its brand new residential suite in December 2015. Register your interest with the home by calling 0333 4343 022 or email julie.bartholomew@careuk.com
