Field Lodge spring visit to Wimpole Home Farm

Home news

As the season changed to spring, residents and the team at Field Lodge went on an outing to Wimpole Home Farm, in Royston, to see all the changes take place.

Home Farm is set within a working estate, with an impressive mansion at the very heart of it, surrounded by stunning grounds.

Field Lodge residents witnessed the spring lambing and took a visit to the piggery and cattle sheds too. As well as the lambs, cows, pigs and piglets, the weather was nice enough to take a stroll outdoors to see the horses and donkeys.

After a stroll around the farm, there was time to stop and have some lunch in the farm café, which was enjoyed by all.

To finish the day, there was a relaxing walk around the grounds, including the 18th Century walled garden where vegetables are grown for use in the restaurant and flowers for the hall too. There were many beautiful plants to see and enjoy.
