Join Davers for a royal celebration this Care Home Open Day

Home news

Davers Court is inviting local people to visit the home to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

On Friday 20th April, the team will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.

Residents at Davers Court have their crowns at the ready, as they prepare to commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday. At 11am on Friday 20th April, the team will be hosting ‘The Big Quiz’ to test the visitors’ knowledge of the royal family, this will be followed by a typically British lunch of pie and mash.

In the afternoon, Budgie Entertainment will be joining residents and visitors for a patriotic sing-along to get everyone into the party spirit, and from 3pm, there will be a traditional tea dance to finish off the day of celebrations fit for a queen.

Wendy Harvey, home manager at Davers Court, said: “At Davers Court, we’re always looking for ways to get to know our neighbours better and build relationships with the local community. Care Home Open Day is a brilliant way of bringing generations together for a fun-filled day, showcasing all that the home has to offer.

“We look forward to welcoming the people of Bury St Edmunds for what promises to be another fantastic open day.”
