Join The Potteries for summer fun to celebrate Care Home Open Day

The Potteries is inviting local people to visit the home on Friday 16th June to join in its celebrations for Care Home Open Day.

From 2pm-4pm, the team at The Potteries will be opening the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event. The day is in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.

The Potteries has organised a Victorian themed summer garden party to celebrate the open day, where visitors will be tempted with a selection of tasty treats prepared by the home’s chefs, including a buffet and afternoon tea. There will be plenty of games and activities including croquet and boules for guests to take part in, and live music from Lea Martin to get everyone in the party spirit.

Zita Turner, home manager at The Potteries, said: “Care Home Open Day is about connecting people and enriching the lives of residents through lasting relationships with the local community across the generations. 

“We cannot wait to open our doors to the community to showcase everything The Potteries has to offer and the difference care homes make to residents’ lives and their wellbeing.  We have planned a fun day for all the family and a warm welcome awaits the people of Poole.”
