Mercia Grange helps town become dementia friendly

Home news

Mercia Grange is helping to create a dementia-friendly community, by hosting a Dementia Friends session on Wednesday 25th April.

From 2pm-3pm, the local community can attend Mercia Grange’s free event which will be held at Moor Hall Hotel and Spa in Great Oaks, and learn about what it is like to live with dementia.

Dementia Friends Champion and customer relations manager at Mercia Grange, Rachel Mackay, will discuss how best to turn knowledge into action, to help create a more dementia friendly community in Sutton Coldfield.

Rachel Mackay customer relationsmanager at Mercia Grange said: “We may not have opened the doors to Mercia Grange just yet, however as the home nears its completion date we believe we have a commitment to encourage local people to learn about dementia.

“We want to educate people, but also help the community turn their knowledge into action by making our community more aware of those living with dementia. We look forward to welcoming members of the Sutton Coldfield community to our event on Wednesday 25th April to spread awareness of what it is like living with dementia.”
