New manager to take the helm of Buchanan Court

Buchanan Court has announced the appointment of a home manager ahead of the home’s opening later this year.

Angela Kamara will lead the team at Buchanan Court, having previously spent 25 years working in a number of roles across the care sector, including nurse, area manager and team leader.

Angela holds a BSC Hons degree in Nursing as well as an MA degree in Social Work, and prides herself on her ‘can do attitude’ and passion for excellence in meeting the needs of individuals. Her new position will see her take responsibility for the day-to-day running of Buchanan Court, which will accommodate up to 80 residents.

During her career Angela has focused her approach to management on training, motivating and mentoring team members to feel empowered and supported in their roles, to ensure the best possible care is provided by all.

Commenting on her new position, Angela said: “I am more than delighted to have been appointed as the first home manager at Buchanan Court, and I am excited to lead a skilled and passionate team when we open the doors later this year.

“I believe that in order to be a successful home manager you need to be an excellent communicator, respectful, kind, and always willing to learn. I’m looking forward to starting a new chapter here in Harrow delivering the highest quality of care possible and more than anything I am looking forward to putting smiles on the residents’ faces knowing they are having a joyful time at a happy home.”

Buchan Court has also welcomed the arrival of customer relations manager, Samantha Neal, who previously held the same role at Care UK’s Elizabeth Lodge in Enfield.

Speaking about her new position, Samantha said: “While I enjoy organising events and leading activities, my favourite part of this role is meeting new families and residents and making them feel at home. I am looking forward to joining a new team here at Buchanan Court and welcoming residents through the doors in the near future.”
