Highmarket house is inviting the local community to a free event offering support for people considering care for their loved one.

On Thursday 12thApril, from 2pm-4pm, the team at Highmarket House will open the doors for its free ‘Planning care for the future’ event.

A host of independent specialists will be on hand to deliver an informative session to help those caring for a loved one understand the available options for funding long-term care. From 2pm, Jane Finnerty, from Society of Later Life Advisors, will discuss why it’s important to take professional advice when it comes to funding care.

At 2.30pm, Julia Routen and Emma Rolfe, from Spratt Endicott Solicitors, will be on hand with advice about wills and Power of Attorney, as well as to explain the 12-week disregard and differed payments system.

After the event there will be a helpful Q&A session, as well as an opportunity for carers to share their own experiences and meet the friendly team at Highmarket House.

Home manager, Dawn Covill, said: “Here at Highmarket House, we understand that providing advice and guidance can be incredibly helpful for anyone considering the future care of a loved one, which is why we have created this event with the help of independent experts.

“We are delighted to have Jane, Julia and Emma joining us for the event, who can provide professional guidance in this area and we hope local people will take the opportunity to benefit from our expertise.”
