Sherwood Grange helps create tranquil garden for pupils at local school

Home news

The team at Care UK’s Sherwood Grange care home in Kingston Vale saw their recent donation of £700 put to good use by a local school as they opened a new sensory garden for pupils.

Care UK’s donation went towards the raised beds, planting and gravel surround, which features wild flowers to attract the wildlife. Robin Hood Primary School on Bowness Crescent now has a designated space where pupils and staff can sit quietly in beautiful and quiet surroundings.

Rick Mayne, home manager at Sherwood Grange, said: “We believe it’s important for everybody to have somewhere to relax, and are delighted to have been able to contribute to Robin Hood Primary School’s new sensory garden. Connecting with our outdoor space and taking the time to observe our natural surroundings can be extremely beneficial.”

Pete Boulton, head teacher at Robin Hood Primary School, added: “The new garden will provide our pupils with a peaceful environment they can visit during the school day. Our thanks goes to all of those who helped us create the space, including Care UK for their generous donation.”
