Six-strong leadership team appointed at Kingston Vale care home

Home news

Care UK has unveiled the senior level team for its new Sherwood Grange care home in Kingston Vale following a recruitment drive which, when the home is full, will generate 90 jobs in the area.

The new three-storey care home on Robin Hood Lane is set to open next week and will feature 59-ensuite bedrooms. It will provide full time residential care, specialist dementia care and short term respite care for older people in Kingston Vale and beyond.

Rick Mayne, home manager at Sherwood Grange care home, has recruited a senior team with a wealth of experience including Aries D.Castillo as deputy home manager, Nirmal Panesar as head chef, Vasileious Tsiknopoulos as head housekeeper, Parul Patel as administrator, Albano Leitao, as a general maintenance and Zainab Sillah as team leader.

Commenting on the appointments, Rick said: “Sherwood Grange is a state-of-the-art care home and, while every design detail has been considered to provide the highest standards of care, having the right people working in the home is crucial to the overall experience of residents. All of the new team members are highly experienced, skilled individuals and have successful track records in their careers to date.”

Aries D.Castillo, deputy manager, has worked for Care UK for two years and comes to Sherwood Grange from Langley Oaks in Croydon. As a trained nurse, Aries will support colleagues in developing their skills and expertise. He also aims to earn Sherwood Grange recognition as a leading home for dementia care.

Nirmal Panesar, head chef, has worked in the care sector for 20 years and will be responsible for creating resident menus that meet all dietary requirements. Following Care UK’s commitment to ensuring all residents enjoy mealtimes, Nirmal will be on hand to adapt the dining experience according to every individual’s likes and needs.

Parul Patel joins Care UK as business administrator to ensure the team is organised and motivated, creating an enjoyable and homely atmosphere for residents and colleagues alike.

Leading the team is Zainab Sillah, who has 16 years’ experience in the role. Zainab will coach colleagues and work with them to achieve and maintain Care UK’s high standards of service and care. Her role will prove vital as the new home opens its doors to the public and welcomes the first resident.

Albano Leitao has worked as a general maintenance for two years and comes to Sherwood Grange from the residential and shared housing market.  Albano loves to interact with the residents and contribute to their care.
