On Friday 17th June 2016, Care UK’s care homes across the country opened their doors for Care Home Open Day, inviting the public in to showcase what quality care homes are really about and have a day of fun for residents and guests alike.
During this year’s Care Home Open Day, lots of exciting events took place across Care UK’s homes. Some events were inspired by the Queen’s 90th birthday year, with street parties, celebratory afternoon teas, royal-themed cake competitions, 1940’s dances and screenings of the Coronation. Others hosted their very own carnival party in honour of the Rio 2016 Olympics, and guests and residents enjoyed activities including armchair Olympics, sports day-style races, Brazilian food and even a limbo competition.
Of course, our homes are open at any time, not just for Care Home Open Day. So if you couldn’t make it along in June but would like to know more, then just contact your local care home to arrange a tour at a time that’s convenient to you.
