Kerry Reyes

Home Manager

Kerry Reyes

I'm very proud that I started my career as a Nurse at St Vincent's House and have worked my way to Deputy Manager and now Home Manager.

Care UK is excellent at seeing the potential in colleagues and supporting them to develop their skills and expertise.

The team at St Vincent's House is very close-knit and hardworking. We support each other to do our best for residents and their families. Theres always a lot to juggle each day. In my role I tackle anything from recruiting new team members to supporting colleagues with training, getting to grips with new policies and procedures, and liaising with relatives.

What I do is only possible with the support of our amazing team. They never cease to surprise me with their dedication and passion for what they do.

Victor Oliver
Deputy Manager

I became part of the Care UK family in 2019. I worked as Clinical Lead before taking on the challenge of being Deputy Manager.

I learned in the beginning that the core values of Care UK were care, passion, and teamwork, and I get to experience these on a daily basis.

The Deputy Manager role requires expertise in leadership and management. A deputy should be able to demonstrate competence, commitment, care, and passion. In order to inspire and transform the team to provide outstanding delivery of care and services.

I look forward to the beginning of each day. It feels so refreshing and motivating to be given a multitude of opportunities to excel in terms of the service we provide, and also the opportunities to make a difference in residents' lives.

Everyone in our team is so very caring towards our residents and their families, and to each and everyone who is part of the team. I see firsthand how the whole team are so passionate about going the extra mile to ensure delivery of quality care, and the inspiring, collaborative, empowering environment as a team has driven us to achieve our goals.

Jayvee Baylon
Clinical Lead

I was trained and worked as a medical/surgical nurse for almost 8 years before I started working as a care home nurse in the UK.

I was hired by St. Vincent's in early 2021 as a newly registered nurse. In the same year, I became unit manager of one of the dementia units. Now, I am currently the Clinical Lead of the same care home. In the 4-year span, I'm proud not only because of what I have achieved but also because of what I’ve been through. Through the different roles that I’ve worked for, it helps me to understand the different points of view of different health team members in the care home. Making me a better team player and leader.

As a clinical lead, the most important characteristic needed is the ability to be a good role model and a leader to your fellow nurses. My role involves ensuring that all nurses and other health team members always follow the Care UK policy and NMC guidelines in providing quality care to each resident.

We are working together to achieve one goal, which is to provide the best possible quality care to each resident in the care home.

Each day, I enjoy meeting other people from different healthcare departments and being able to learn from their experience and expertise in managing different issues.

Donato Ca Campo
Head Chef

I have always enjoyed making people happy with my food, and I joined Care UK to help bring joy to residents through their meals.

Being Head Chef requires a variety of skills beyond just cooking. You need to be a good leader with excellent time management. As well as being able to stay positive, passionate, and caring.

In 2023, I was a finalist for the national Care UK Chef of the Year award. I am proud to be part of a big and winning company like Care UK, leading the care sector in the UK.

Each day I look forward to when I can put a smile on a resident's face with my dishes.

Theresa Kearney
Business Administrator

Before joining the St Vincent’s House team I worked in a domiciliary care organisation, providing care in the community. While I’m now not directly involved in care, I’m still helping people, which is something I love.

Empathy, good communication and listening skills are important to have in this role because there is a lot of liaison with relatives as well as residents and colleagues. You also have to be able to juggle multiple tasks.

What I enjoy about working here is that no two days are ever the same. There’s always a new person to get to know, a different family to support, or something new to learn. It keeps me busy, which is great.

Phyo Tun
Business Administrator

I’ve been with Care UK since 2008. I’ve had lots of opportunities and all the support I needed to develop and progress and to qualify in my role. I’ve worked as a care support worker myself, so I’m experienced in the care environment.

I love my role now though as I’ve learnt new skills and overcome new challenges. I like to think I help to make the atmosphere at St Vincent’s House friendly and warm by supporting everyone with good service. I love the team I work with and we’re all passionate about making residents happy.

Virna Cicero
Head Housekeeper

I was inspired to join Care UK and St Vincent’s House as the company and team seemed passionate about the care they provided.

Leading the housekeeping team requires positivity and great teamwork. Working in a care setting provides unique challenges, and it is my favourite part of each day to achieve our goals.

It brings me pride to help everyone work together as a team to provide first-class service to residents.

Mikias Zerihun
Maintenance

Before taking on the role in maintenance at St Vincent's House I worked as a Catering Assistant. I was proud to be able to move over to maintenance where I can use my engineering qualifications and electrician training.

My role requires not only good practical knowledge, but also a positive can-do attitude. Being proactive and helpful for the benefit of staff, residents and visitors. I enjoy the constant problem solving needed to repair and maintain the home.

My favourite thing about working at St Vincent's is the positive team work. It makes it easier and more enjoyable to achieve my goals as everyone in the staff works together.
