Homecare recruitment for carers and domiciliary care management

Care UK takes an innovative and continuous view of care and support worker recruitment, recognising that the availability of quality carers is critical in delivering our high standards of homecare. Each of our branch managers is responsible for ensuring that an appropriate level and mix of home care staff are available to provide a high quality domiciliary care service.

Care UK’s recruitment process aims to identify applicants’ current skills, qualifications, experience, training, behaviours and suitability for the post that they are applying for. Our recruitment policy is structured to ensure that all staff will be fairly employed, whilst meeting the criteria and standards set by Care UK and in accordance with appropriate legislation. All staff are subject to a three month probationary period.

As part of our service user safeguarding policy, we ensure that all of our applicants go through a thorough recruitment process in accordance with, and in addition to, nationally prescribed and regulated frameworks. Offers are made subject to satisfactory outcomes of the following:

  • Enhanced CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure
  • Vetting and barring check
  • Verification of identity
  • Right to work check
  • Verifiable reference check including full employment history
  • Occupational health check

We have set processes for checking the identity of our applicant to ensure the safety of our service users and local communities.
