Extra care
When living alone at home is no longer viable, extra care services help individuals to continue living independently in their community, maintaining their own self-contained environment. Extra care also enables couples to stay together, when one partner requires additional support, within a sheltered community.

An overview of our service
Care UK operates a number of extra care schemes throughout England in partnership with local authorities and housing associations. Moving into a Care UK-run extra care scheme means that you can benefit from care and support throughout the day but, unlike moving into a residential or nursing home, you retain your own front door and are free to come and go as you please. Our care team will be on site 24 hours a day, giving you the reassurance you need to maintain your independence.
All of our care and support workers are vetted and are trained to a high standard. They also have regular checks with the Criminal Records Bureau.
