We believe that a well-trained and motivated workforce is essential to the successful delivery of high quality services. We value our staff and are strongly committed to facilitating the professional development of all our employees.

Care UK has signed the Skills Pledge which publicly demonstrates our commitment to support all our employees to develop their basic skills, including literacy and numeracy, and work towards relevant, valuable qualifications.  We want to ensure that all staff are skilled, competent and able to make a full contribution to the continued success of Care UK and, by working in partnership with local government schemes, we will provide opportunities with scope to attain higher qualifications where applicable, helping support employees’ future employability.

Our training programmes enable staff to appreciate their professional role and reinforce our vision and values for the future.  All new staff receive a full induction programme which introduces them to the company, their division and any essential topics for their role.  Every employee has an annual appraisal which leads to a personal development plan.   We acknowledge the varying working patterns of staff which can make formal learning programmes difficult to attend, so we encourage alternative interventions such as e-learning or work based learning. 

Leadership and management development is supported by a framework of in depth programmes, arranged both locally and at Group level. This helps to identify and keep talented people in the organization and build on their ability.
