Our approach
Care UK's aim is to ensure the people we care for have confidence and self-esteem so they can fulfill their potential and have the highest quality of life possible. We base our approach on outcomes not just outputs. This means understanding the needs of each individual and working with them to set and achieve personal goals. We do this through a step-by-step approach, based on proven techniques, and we follow the same approach whether we are working in treatment, therapy or rehabilitation.
Care plans
We place the people we care for at the heart of the mental health care planning process. We tailor our treatment and support to the needs of each individual and deliver it within the framework of the Care Programme Approach.
Multi-disciplinary care
All of our facilities have multi-disciplinary teams of professional and experienced staff. These include RMNs, clinical psychologists, consultant psychiatrists, psychotherapists, occupational therapists and social workers.
Daily living skills
We help people to develop their daily living skills as well as teaching new ones. Daily skills include self-care, personal hygiene, shopping, meal preparation and cooking. Our high specification facilities are equipped with ADL kitchens, activity rooms and, if needed, accommodation can be arranged in independent flats.
Therapy
We provide a programme of therapeutic and developmental activities incorporating occupational therapy, psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, counselling and social skills development.
Social inclusion
We encourage individuals to access and participate in community life, via psycho-social interventions. We have strong relationships with local services and businesses so that our staff can help individuals with hobbies and encourage them to take part in leisure and / or work-based activities within their local community.
The treatment and support we provide is based on the specific needs of each individual in order to maximise their full potential and quality of life. This leads to increased confidence and self-esteem.
