Primary care

General practice

Care UK has a strong track record of providing high quality general practice and family healthcare services, particularly in deprived areas.  We work closely with stakeholders to develop primary care services that reflect an area’s identity and the needs of its local community. We work with you to develop models which maximise the time clinicians spend with their patients and which maintain the values of continuity, comprehensive care, access and equity.

If you need us to, we can also offer integrated healthcare solutions. This could be a combination of diagnostics, emergency avoidance schemes, intermediate care, rehab services, long-term conditions management and out-of-hours and in-hours primary care.

Urgent care

Care UK delivers high quality end-to-end solutions for unscheduled primary care. Our services are extensive and include traditional out-of-hours, walk-in centres, minor injury and urgent care centres.

We work closely with PCTs and local stakeholders to develop solutions which are innovative and responsive. In all cases we strive to deliver value for money for the healthcare community, while meeting the needs of patients and their carers.  Through the delivery of urgent healthcare services we can also help PCTs reduce the number of inappropriate A&E attendances.

Out-of-hours

We also work with PCTs to develop out-of-hours primary care service solutions. Our solutions are bespoke to each locality and can include MIUs, MAUs and walk-in centres if required. We consult with existing providers such as ambulance trusts, GP co-operatives and NHS trusts to make sure our services are high quality, value for money and meet the needs of all concerned.

We understand prisoners' health needs and have proven experience of delivering effective, quality care within the constraints of the prison environment.

CATS

Through our Clinical Assessment & Treatment Services (CATS) we offer a one stop service close to home. This includes outpatient diagnostics, imaging, investigation and treatment.  Our healthcare services are provided in the community via clinics, health centres or from flexible mobile solutions. We have developed innovative care pathways across a wide range of specialities and can provide fast assessments and reporting to help PCTs meet referral-to-treatment targets.

Ultrasound, x-ray and DEXA scanning

Care UK is able to offer primary care commissioners and acute trusts a range of imaging solutions, from portable units that can be deployed within GP premises through to outsourcing of more comprehensive radiographer-led services including ultrasound (obstetric and non-obstetric), x-ray and DEXA scanning.
