Urban placements

Care UK Children's Services specialises in small semi-urban environments where young people are encouraged to take an active part in the local community.

We care for:

Children aged between 10 and 18 years
Who may have been sexually, physically or mentally abused
Who may have sexually, physically or mentally abused others
Who may have behavioural difficulties
Who may have mild learning disabilities

We provide them with:

A safe and nurturing environment
Fully trained staff teams who are experienced in addressing challenging behaviour
A diverse range of activities to encourage personal development
Therapeutic services provided by a bank of experienced and accredited therapists and counsellors
Assessment of educational needs and access to education
Self-confidence, self-esteem and a sense of empowerment

We do this by:

Providing staffing levels to meet individual need based on risk assessments
Producing a Personal Education Plan which is updated monthly
Using a flexible approach and a range of strategies to meet a variety of needs

Our success:

We are particularly successful at getting our young people back into mainstream education, usually after long periods of non-attendance prior to being placed with us
We have established excellent relationships with Local Education Boards
75% of our young people have attended mainstream schools in the last two years.
