Residents and the team at a Sussex care home celebrate its first birthday

August 7th 2012

Heather View - Care UK’s flagship care home in Crowborough - celebrated its first anniversary in style this week.

To mark the special occasion, residents, their families and other guests were invited to gather on Heather View’s ‘village green’ to enjoy live music, a prize raffle and a traditional afternoon tea with clotted cream, jam scones and home-made cakes.

It was a double celebration for this state-of-the-art care home. Heather View was not only celebrating its first birthday but also the news that the home has achieved full Care Quality Commission compliance following a recent, unannounced inspection.

Manager, Emma Rich-Spice is excited by the prospect of leading Heather View to be the leading care home in the area; she said: “It is a real privilege to work in such a lovely environment. Before I accepted my new post, I visited the home as a ‘mystery shopper’ and couldn’t help but be impressed with the facilities, quality of care and, of course, the excellent nursing and care team. We’re all looking forward to continuing the good work in providing high quality, innovative care to our residents and playing our part as a member of the local Crowborough community.”
