The internet wasn‘t the first tool that sprang to mind when Care UK staff sat down with people with learning disabilities to find ways of improving communication. Yet, six months on, a new website has been launched that makes use of symbols, pictures and audio visual files to give them the information they need to take charge of their own lives. What‘s more, a range of people with learning disabilities acted as advisers and guides to help make this unusual and engaging site come into being.
