In fact, we call our team members enablers because they enable those they work with to live independent and fulfilling lives. Our enablers are thoroughly screened, trained and then individually matched to each customer on the basis of shared interests, cultural backgrounds and personalities. We know that for home care to work, confidence in the enabler is key and we’ve seen many a trusting friendship form as a result of our approach to personality matching.
How we work
We know that finding home care for yourself or your loved ones can often be a daunting task. This decision often comes at a challenging time and without the experience of this kind of situation, it can be difficult to know what to look for. Which is why we think the best first step is always a conversation about your specific situation.
All of our customer relationships started with an initial consultation about their specific circumstances. We are happy to talk to you on the phone, or one of our team members will come out to your home and take the time to really understand the challenges you are facing and whether we can help. We know that our service may not be right for everyone, but we are happy to help you work through what it is that you might need.
Lifestyle bundles
Many people don’t realise that support in the home can go above and beyond a daily routine. We understand the importance of keeping active and participating in the local community and have helped many of our customers following interests and activities that they were not confident enough to pursue on their own.
We are happy to develop a lifestyle package tailored specifically to your needs, and have also developed a range of care bundles to help inspire our customers and their loved ones with ideas about how they could rejuvenate their quality of life. We offer a wide range of Homecare Select bundles, including:
- Leisure outings – the confidence that comes with having an enabler for company on a visit to the shops, a trip to the hairdressers or even just a stroll in the park makes for safe, enjoyable and hassle-free outings
- Sunday gatherings – we love to see families come together, and can help prepare the house for guests, assist with shopping, cooking and preparation for a family meal and even come back afterwards to ensure everything is cleaned and packed away
- Social engagements – our enablers can support you in getting ready for meetings with friends or family, arrange transport and even help select and wrap gifts for those special occasions
Having the difficult conversation of care
When a loved one first needs a helping hand it’s often with the little things that become increasingly difficult with age. Often, the offer of any type of care or support in these situations can be very hard to accept, and may prompt feelings of insecurity, fear and uncertainty about the future.
To help you through this challenging time, we have developed what we call our Loved Ones brochure. It provides information to help you tackle what can sometimes be a difficult conversation, along with all the details you need to know about how we work and the kind of services we provide. It also includes a lift-out mini-brochure for your loved one with details of our home help services – a service we have found can often be an easy first step.
