Our complex care recovery service enables us to provide the right level of care and support when and where it is needed.
We know that as people progress through their recovery journey, their care and support needs change considerably. Which is why we developed our complex care recovery service – a combination of different care and accommodation models in the one residential setting.
Our approach begins with intensive rehabilitation when an individual moves into one of our high support en-suite rooms. As they meet their goals, they can move to a medium intensity supported living apartment within the same complex – gaining increased independence without upsetting their ongoing treatment and care. Where possible, the next step of the journey sees residents move into self-contained accommodation with their own front door and independent living arrangements. Ultimately, our aim is to then work with registered social landlords to find our clients a nearby home where they can continue to draw upon the support and encouragement of our team.
We believe that the success of this service rests on providing a pathway of increasingly independent living without the disruption of having to move facility. Each complex care recovery service offers:
- A central care hub with bistro dining, lounge, offices and therapy or meeting rooms
- Intensive rehabilitation services in high support group living environments
- Medium intensity supported living apartments
- Self-contained accommodation with individual front doors
- Access to nearby facilities to enable residents to participate in local community life
We also understand the importance of education and employment in building the confidence and life skills our clients need for their recovery journey. Where appropriate, our personal support plans will often include college courses and voluntary or paid employment. Indeed, we can often provide opportunities for residents to take up paid jobs within the service itself, in areas like our bistro.
Our complex care recovery facilities
Our first complex care recovery service is Riverbank in Hull which works in tandem with our independent living accommodation at nearby Kingfisher Rise. Over the next few years we’ll be opening four more services in England, each catering to the needs of individuals who require intensive rehabilitation, extra care rehabilitation or intensive supported living.
