Awards & recognition

We are proud of the recognition our teams have received for their commitment to delivering excellent standards of care.

Listed below are just a few highlights of the awards and recognition our teams have received in the last few years.

Health Investor Awards

The Health Investor Awards recognise organisations which have made an outstanding contribution in the provision of healthcare. We have received three Health Investor Awards in the past few years:

  • Residential Care Provider of the Year, 2011
  • Primary Care provider of the Year, 2010
  • Primary Care Provider of the Year, 2009

Golden Service Awards

The Golden Service Awards recognise excellence in cleanliness and outstanding hygiene standards. In 2011, we were recognised with:

  • Golden Service Award for Healthcare to the Bradford District Care Trust for their work at our Eccleshill NHS Treatment Centre in Bradford

National Dementia Awards

The National Dementia Awards recognise outstanding service in caring for people with dementia. In 2011, we were nominated in five of the 12 categories and very proud to have scooped up three awards:

  • Best Dementia Dignity in Care Champion for Carole Wardle, Manager of the Station House in Crewe
  • Best Dementia Care Manager in a Community Setting for Elaine Carruthers, Manager of The Orchard Centre in Epsom
  • Best Dementia Interior Design for Heather View in Crowborough

National Care Awards

The National Care Awards were created by Caring Times to recognise and promote excellence in the social care sector. In 2010, we received recognition for:

  • Best Newcomer for Jamie Coppell, a care worker at Station House in Crewe

Gold Standards Framework Accreditation for End of Life Care

The Gold Standards Framework Accreditation for End of Life Care encourages choice and dignity for patients as well as sensitive and effective support for relatives. It is used by the NHS, Department of Health, Age UK and MacMillan Nurses, to recognise the highest levels of end of life care. Several of our homes have achieved this accreditation:

  • Amberley Lodge in Purley, June 2011
  • Forrester Court in Paddington, January 2012
  • St Vincent’s House in Hammersmith, January 2010

Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) is a registered charity aimed at saving lives and reducing injuries through the prevention of accidents. The organisation offers a range of awards to recognise and celebrate the achievement of a very high standard of health and safety at work over certain periods. In 2010, we received:

  • RoSPA Silver Award for 3 years of excellence

Great British Care Awards

The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events throughout England and are a celebration of excellence across the care sector. The awards pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work. In 2010, we had five outstanding individuals across our care homes and home care divisions shortlisted for the awards and were ultimately awarded:

  • National Dignity in Care Award for Carole Wardle, Manager at the Station House in Epsom
  • Recruitment Partnership Award for the East Midlands

We were also recognised in the 2009 Great British Care Awards with:

  • South Gloucestershire Home Carer of the Year Award for Louise Manning from our Bristol and South Gloucestershire home support branch
  • South Tyneside Carer of the Year Award for Maureen Wallace from our North East home support centre in Longbenton
