Care UK operates a number of NHS Walk-in Centres across the UK providing free services, including health information, advice and treatment for a range of illnesses and minor injuries without having to make an appointment.
NHS Walk-in Centres have been introduced to help people with busy lifestyles who need access to flexible and convenient health services. The centres are run by experienced nurses, and GPs. Walk-in Centres do not replace local GP or hospital services but complement them by providing more patients with convenient access to a range of treatments for minor illnesses and injuries. The services operates on a first come, first served basis, unless someone is acutely unwell and needs immediate attention.
The Centres treat a range of conditions including:
minor illnesses cuts and grazes minor scalds and burns strains and sprains bites and stings minor head injuries ear and throat infections emergency contraception minor skin infections / rashes minor eye conditions / infections stomach upsets coughs, colds and flu-like symptoms other common illness asthma
