Who are we?

For 30 years we've been helping people to live happier, healthier and more independent lives.

Founded in 1982, Care UK has grown to become one of the leading providers of health and social care services in the UK. We run GP centres, hospitals, care homes and provide support for people within the community. With everything we do, our aim is the same: to help people live more independent and fulfilling lives.

Care and support for older people

For people entering later life, we recognise that we can improve the quality of the life they lead by being attentive to their individual needs. We provide support to people in many different settings – support at home, through supported living services, day clubs or in residential or nursing homes. In all these settings, we aim to help people live as independently as possible.

Many of the people in our care homes and day care centres are living with dementia. We are passionate about providing services and support to these residents and believe that our unique approach to dementia care helps each of our residents enjoy their life as much as possible.

Healthcare

Our healthcare services include treatment centres, GP practices, NHS walk-in centres, out of hours GP support and clinical assessment and diagnostics facilities. We work with the NHS to take healthcare services closer to where people live and work in order to increase the efficiency and quality of the services we deliver and help reduce waiting times.

We are one of the largest independent sector healthcare providers and work in close partnership with the NHS to deliver more than 50 services throughout the UK. We employ the same governance and accountability procedures as the NHS and are bound by the same standards and measures of success. This means the quality of care we provide should meet - and we hope exceed - the high levels of service expected from the NHS.

Specialist care and support

We provide services for people with mental health needs including low secure hospitals, supported living, residential care and independent hospitals. We help people with a range of issues including anxiety, depression and more complex issues such as personality disorders or self harm. We also offer specialist services for people who are living with eating disorders.  Our focus is on rehabilitation and empowerment in a safe, secure and therapeutic environment. We work with people to create a care plan which will build confidence, develop living skills and achieve attainable goals. With the right support, we believe people can live with much greater independence.

We also provide support for people with learning difficulties, acquired brain injury and a range of other challenges. We believe that embarking on a journey of recovery can help people start living their lives, not their conditions.

We provide these services to thousands of people across the UK. Our size enables us to provide strong support structures while our local teams enable us to operate as an informed and active part of the community. This combination provides a strong balance of quality and stability with local skills and knowledge.

A person centred approach

We're proud of our track record of providing high quality services which focus of the unique and very specific needs of each individual we work with. Our success in doing this is down to our focus on a service which is truly person centred. We work to see life through the eyes of our customers – whether a resident in a care home, receiving support in the community, or coming to one of our treatment centres. We work to understand people’s personalities and background to create a plan of care which fits in around their lifestyles, hopes and aspirations.
