Residential care

With numerous activities taking place at the home, there is something to suit everyone - if your loved one likes a lie-in on Sundays, taking part in an afternoon quiz or watching films in the evening, they can continue to enjoy this at Cairdean. Our chef prepares delicious, nutritious meals every day, which can be enjoyed with company or in their rooms, and there are always hot drinks and freshly baked goodies available. 

Nursing care

Our highly qualified, experienced team of nursing professionals deliver the best clinical care possible and are able to care for residents with many complex requirements, including strokes and heart problems to parkinson’s disease and dementia. Offering tailored care plans, we work closely with GPs and specialist healthcare colleagues, ensuring your loved one receives the perfect care for their needs.

Nursing dementia care

Our nursing team at Cairdean House know the challenges of caring for a loved one living with dementia and have the experience necessary to provide top quality care in our comfortable surroundings. Formal training via our own Learning Academy ensure the team’s skills in dementia care are always up to date and in line with current best practise. On hand around-the-clock, your loved one’s comfort is at the heart of everything we do.

Respite care

If you are caring for a loved one at home, you’ll know how tiring that can be. Cairdean House offers short term respite care, allowing you to recharge your batteries, knowing your relative is well looked after. Whether you long for a holiday or just a peaceful night’s sleep, we can help. 

We are also practised in delivering convalescent care, helping your loved one make the transition between a stay in hospital and returning to living at home.

End of life care

Offering compassion and empathy, our specialist carers treat every resident and their family with dignity and respect as they approach this difficult period. Working together with your family, GP and health care professionals, palliative care, with pain management, is provided. This ensures that your loved one is as comfortable as possible as they reach their final days and hours.

Advocacy services

The Cairdean House team works with independent advocacy services. If a person’s capacity means they have limited decision-making ability, an advocate will act on their behalf and support their best interests from an unbiased perspective. This service is particularly useful if a resident has no family to help them with decision-making.

Dementia friendly environments

Our immediate surroundings can have a huge impact on our quality of life, particularly when trying to make sense of the world around us. We work with academic partners to create care home environments that help people living with dementia to live as independent and stress-free a life as possible.

Our people are chosen for their attitude, dedication and caring nature and we are committed to their on-going training and development. From our carers and nurses, to our activity coordinators, chefs and maintenance teams, we will go the extra mile to build strong relationships – not just with individuals living in our care homes, but also with their friends and family.

Support for families and carers

We understand that a dementia diagnosis will affect more than just one individual and we're here to support you and your family. Seeing a loved one change can be a difficult and heart-breaking experience and often the process of needing or delivering care can change family relationships significantly.

Namaste care

We are proud to offer namaste care to residents living with advanced dementia. The purpose of namaste care is to give comfort and pleasure through sensory stimulation. Our namaste sessions are run by trained carers and involve individual caring touch, such as a hand or foot massages, music therapy, themed sensory and gentle movement sessions, or simply reminiscing.
