At Heathlands House, every day will be about keeping busy, having fun and even trying something new.
The best care is personalised care. That’s why, when your loved one joins us at Heathlands House on Bullen Close, we’ll get to work learning all about their life, their interests and hobbies, the places they’ve lived and worked, their family and friends – and all the other things that they hold dear. Then we’ll plan activities to suit them. These might range from music sessions and quizzes, to pamper afternoons, live entertainment, outings, and dance classes.
Enjoying the home’s facilities
While we’re looking forward to exploring all the famous places in and around Cambridge, we’ll have some fantastic facilities to enjoy right here. Your loved one will be welcome to catch up with visitors in the café over a hot drink and a freshly baked slice of something delicious. They can catch a classic film in the cinema room or be pampered by the hairdresser in the salon.
We’re here to help residents enjoy quality time with their relatives, so do join them here for a meal or an activity. You’ll be welcome to visit whenever you wish and stay for as long as you wish.
Designed to be dementia-friendly
Heathlands House has been designed to the latest dementia-friendly standards so that residents who are living with dementia are able to find their way around the home independently. Everything from the size of the suites, to the lighting, furnishings, floor coverings and signage will support people who are living with dementia.
Outside every bedroom is a memory box where residents can put keepsakes that are special to them, including photos, trophies or something they’ve made. As well as providing a terrific conversation starter between carers, relatives and residents, they indicate to each resident that they have found their room.

We’re passionate about giving residents a voice in the running of the home, so we’ll organise regular resident and relative meetings to keep everyone up-to-date on news in the home, and to offer a chance to make suggestions and offer feedback. Everything from food to décor and activities will be up for discussion. We will also run regular surveys and you can chat to any of our colleagues or our Home Manager about anything at any time.
