With so many superb facilities at your fingertips, the only challenge at Chandler Court will be deciding what to do each day.
At Care UK we believe in activity based care. Keep busy by doing meaningful tasks can make a huge difference to a person’s sense of independence as they get older. Keeping active has also been proven to reduce falls and promote wellbeing.
Your day, your choice
Your day will be designed around you. So if you miss the familiar household tasks of folding laundry, laying the table for lunch, or helping in the garden, you’re welcome to continue doing them here. We will also have our own lifestyle team who will organise and run daily group and one-to-one activities around your hobbies and interests.
We offer a unique mix of activities ranging from quizzes and exercise classes, to gardening, baking, music sessions, film afternoons and tea dances. Do you prefer to spend quality time on a one-to-one basis with a carer? We’ll help you to do whatever you wish, from enjoying a walk around the gardens or a shopping trip into town, to a pub lunch or a chat over a cup of tea in the coffee shop.
In the community
We play a key part in the local community, and invite schools, performers, community groups and charities to come and visit. We host our own events throughout the year, from summer barbecues to Christmas parties, and families and members of the community are invited into our home.
A change of scene
Bromsgrove itself is a thriving town, and our new care home is within walking distance of the town centre, with its shops, cafes, museums and restaurants. The home is surrounded by parks and green spaces, including Sanders Park, where big bands play in the bandstand on warmer days. There’s also a thriving library up the road.
With access to a minibus, we have regular day trips to nearby Hanbury Hall, into the Lickey or Clent Hills, or to one of the many attractions in Birmingham or Worcester. With such good road links nearby (the M5 and M42 motorways run to the west and north), even the charming towns of the Cotswolds or Shakespeare’s birthplace of Stratford-upon-Avon, are easily accessible.
Time to dine
Visitors can come along to Chandler Court whenever they wish and stay for as long as they like – even joining in with activities or having a meal with you. In fact, meal times and enjoying great food are a highlight of each day. Our chef-led catering team serves up delicious and nutritious hot and cold menu choices made from fresh ingredients and tailored to your personal tastes, diet and cultural needs. You can help yourself to drinks, snacks and treats at any time of the day or night.
We look forward to celebrating your birthday in style, finding any excuse to have fun and enjoy good food. Whether it’s trying some new foods for Chinese New Year or Diwali, indulging our passion for chocolate at Easter time, or opening our doors to the community for a summer barbecue, there’ll always be something to look forward to.
