Meet our friendly care team

The dedicated and experienced team at Chichester Grange provide your loved one with care that’s completely tailored to their individual needs and wishes.

Nikki Burke

Home Manager

Nikki Burke

I qualified as a Registered General Nurse in Brighton in 1988, and I have been in the role of Home Manager since 2006, working for various care providers.

I worked for Care UK previously between 2012 and 2015. When I was contacted to rejoin in 2018, I jumped at the chance to return to a provider that has a vision and values that align with my own.

As Home Manager, you need to be focused, dynamic and able to multitask, but also have a vision and a sense of humour. It’s a bit like being an orchestra conductor – you need to be able to oversee different aspects of the home, whilst keeping the whole home working as one to make sweet music.

I love being part of this team, especially when we work as one. I feel proud every day knowing that we make a difference to residents’ lives.

Outside of work, I love spending time in the countryside and walking with my husband and our dog Pixie. The New Forest is my favourite place, and we often pop there for a day or an overnight trip.

Vibin Francis
Deputy Manager

I left my position as a Regional Manager for another care home provider to join Care UK in 2022 because of its great reputation. I’m a registered Nurse with a Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care, and I was looking for new challenges.

I’m passionate about setting high standards of care. In fact, in a previous role I achieved ‘Outstanding’ ratings from the CQC at two different care homes. Now I’m excited to be part of the development of Chichester Grange, helping the team work towards the next outstanding.

It’s important in this role to be empathetic and good with people, and my favourite part is talking to the residents and their families and friends. It’s an incredibly fulfilling job, and I love making peoples’ lives better.

When I’m not at work, you’ll find me playing cricket or badminton to unwind.

Caroline Thomas
Customer Relations Manager

I used to work in corporate sales and marketing, however, when I took a year off to care for an older relative, the experience put me onto a new path. I decided to bring my skills and experience to Care UK so that I could help families at a time when they really need help and support.

One of the biggest challenges for me in making a career change was educating myself about dementia. There’s so much to understand about it and the different forms it takes, and how to help people to live well with dementia. I’ve loved it though – I’d say making the move to care has been the highlight of my career – and I really enjoy any chance I have to chat to the residents and learn more about them.

A large part of my role is showing families around the home, and it’s got to be my favourite part of what I do. Chichester Grange is a brand-new home, with a very friendly family atmosphere and we’re all very proud of it.

Nicky Carley
Lifestyle Lead

Working at Chichester Grange has been a career highlight for me. I took the job at Care UK because I wanted to make a difference in peoples’ lives. Before joining the team at Chichester Grange, I used to work in primary schools.

To be a Lifestyle Lead, you need to be friendly, warm and approachable. I love spending time with residents and seeing them smile. It can be challenging to think on my feet and build lifestyle activities from scratch at a new care home, but it’s absolutely worth it to fulfil residents’ wishes and see their smiles, knowing they are safe, happy and content.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading and walking my dog.

Daniel Overall
Head Chef

I started working at Care UK in 2022 with the goal of achieving the best care and service for residents.

I have experience in hospitality and catering – my menus have won awards and I’ve built a catering team from scratch. You need passion, creativity and energy to be a Head Chef, but my favourite part is meeting residents’ needs. As part of our dining promise, we support residents to make mealtime choices in a way that suits them best. As well as supporting residents’ wellbeing, playing a role in developing my team is very important to me.

When I’m not working, I enjoy camping, water sports, and taking the family out for a nice meal in a country pub.

Gabriele Palosanu
Head Housekeeper

I wanted to join Care UK as I saw this as a huge opportunity to work in a higher position and I love how the company puts the residents at the heart of everything. Before joining the team here at Chichester Grange, I previously worked as a laundry assistant, a housekeeper supervisor and in accounting.

To do well in this role you need to be good at planning and be organised. You also need to be hard working, have a good attention to detail and work well in a team. The best part of my working day is meeting with my team to discuss our goals and thoughts. I also like the end of the day when everything is done, the home is nice and tidy, and our high standards are met.

Outside of work I enjoy walking, reading, and spending time with my family.
