Life at Church View is all about choice. Your loved one can choose how they spend their day.
We believe that when a person is doing the things they enjoy in an atmosphere where they feel relaxed and supported, they will feel calm and fulfilled. That's why we support your loved one to do activities that are meaningful to them.
Keeping busy and independent
Daily group activities include seated exercises, baking, arts and crafts, church services, flower arranging, visiting therapy animals, and a 'daily to do list' which involves setting tables, folding clothes, washing tables and dusting.
We've adapted our dementia suite to incorporate areas for meaningful activity, including an area where residents can fold baby clothes or peg clothes on a washing line - things they would have done during their lives, and which bring them reassurance now.
In the community
Maintaining connections to the community is vital - many residents are local people and still have friends and family nearby. Residents will often join in their Easter egg hunts too - and we sponsor the football team. If faith is an important part of your loved one’s life, we will support them to continue to take part in services here in the home.
