Outings, entertainment, activities, helping out in the garden… Whatever your loved one wants to do, our lifestyle team will make it happen.
Living at Deewater Grange in Chester will be all about choice, freedom and flexibility. Our lifestyle team will plan a range of activities every day, from quizzes and baking to arts and crafts to film afternoons and music sessions.
Group activities aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, so we’ll always make time for your loved one one-to-one, whether they fancy a pamper session in the hair salon, a stroll in the garden, a shopping trip, or they’d like to attend a local church service. Your loved one will be free to choose what they’d like to do. Of course, if they’re happy having some time to themselves in their room, or reading the paper in one of the lounges, that’s fine too.
Making new friends
The team at our Chester care home is already forging strong links with local healthcare professionals, as well as schools and community groups. As soon as we open our doors, we’re planning to welcome regular visitors from the local community – it all helps residents to continue to feel a part of local life.
We’ll organise regular entertainers to come and perform for us at Deewater Grange whether they’re musicians, singers or magicians. Animals are always popular too, so we’ll be inviting local petting zoos and pet therapy dogs in to the home for a cuddle with residents. Who knows, we may even adopt our own home pet – other Care UK homes have.
Playing a part in home life
Everyone likes to feel needed and some residents get meaning from having a role to play around the home. It’s a great way to stay independent and engaged with everyday life. If your loved one likes to lay the table for dinner, to do the washing up or to help in the garden, we’ll support them to do so.
Getting out and about
Deewater Grange care home will be less than a mile from one of the oldest towns in Britain, and we’re planning to make the most of it. Chester is one of the best preserved walled cities in Britain and originated as the Roman fort of Deva. There’s so much to explore here, from museums and galleries to shops, theatres and the beautiful cathedral. We won’t be stuck for things to do!
