Entertainment, activities, helping out in the garden… Whatever your loved one wants to do, our lifestyle team will make it happen.
Living at Deewater Grange in Chester is all about choice, freedom and flexibility. Our lifestyle team plan a range of activities every day, from quizzes and baking to arts and crafts to film afternoons and music sessions.
Group activities aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, so we always make time for your loved one one-to-one, whether they fancy a pamper session in the hair salon, a stroll in the garden, a shopping trip, once it is safe to do so. Your loved one will be free to choose what they’d like to do. Of course, if they’re happy having some time to themselves in their room, or reading the paper in one of the lounges, that’s fine too.
Making new friends
The team at our Chester care home have forged strong links with local schools and community groups as well as healthcare professionals, such as Saighton primary, Abbey Gate College and Houlbrook Physiotherapy. The students of Saighton primary school have arranged a time capsule, filled with items from 2020 and cards, and we look forward to hosting a mini ceremony to plant it in our gardens when it is safe to do so.
Residents also plan to visit Abbey Gate College for afternoon tea in their stunning formal gardens which are part of the Duke of Westminster’s estate.
Playing a part in home life
Everyone likes to feel needed and some residents get meaning from having a role to play around the home. It’s a great way to stay independent and engaged with everyday life. If your loved one likes to lay the table for dinner, to do the washing up or to help in the garden, we’ll support them to do so.
