Meet our friendly care team

The dedicated and experienced team at Farm Lane will provide your loved one with care that’s completely tailored to their individual needs and wishes.

Chad Bain

Home Manager

Chad Bain

I joined Care UK in 2018 as a Registration Nurse from the Bahamas.

Since then I’ve worked hard to climb the ladder to Senior Registered General Nurse, Clinical Lead and now Home Manager. A little while ago I even won Care UK’s ‘Nurse of the Year’ award, which was a highlight!

Care UK is a great place to work: as well as being a leading care provider, the support it gives to its teams is exceptional. I’ve been supported to learn and progress and do as much training as possible, and I aim to empower my team in the same way, so they can do their best work.

I’m entirely dedicated to the residents’ wellbeing and ensuring they receive the highest quality care. Even the smallest actions can make a huge difference to a person and make them feel special and cared for. I always look forward to any opportunities I have during the day to chat to the residents and my colleagues here at Farm Lane.

Diana Gooranah
Deputy Manager

I came to the UK to study for a degree in 2006 and I started working at Farm Lane on a part time basis while I studied. I was so taken by the values of Care UK and the difference we make to the lives of the residents, that I decided to stay once I graduated.

It’s vital that a person in my role has compassion and empathy, that you treat people with respect and have a razor-sharp attention to detail. You need to be a team player and able to make decisions quickly too!

I enjoy all aspects of my role, whether it’s working with the team, getting to know them, their strengths, and supporting them to progress; or spending time with the residents and learning more about their lives and experiences. It’s a privilege to care for older people and ensure they’re enjoying a fulfilling life.

Away from work, I like to unwind by getting stuck into a good book, or singing in my local church.

Claudina Hazel
Business Administrator

Before joining the Farm Lane team in 2020 I was a Teaching Assistant at a primary school for a long time. I fancied a career change where I could still do meaningful work, and here I am! Many of the skills I developed in that role have been handy for this one: patience, listening, attentiveness and an ability to think on my feet.

When I can, I help out with activities or with a singalong – it brightens my day and the residents enjoy it when the team join in too! I also enjoy those little chats with individual residents. It’s a chance to learn more about them. There’s always more to learn.

I’m looking forward to supporting the team at Farm Lane and seeing where a career at Care UK might take me. It’s an exciting and innovative care organisation and there’s lots going on.

I enjoy spending any spare time I have with my family, or listening to music, and watching Netflix!

Cherelle Moore
Clinical Lead

Prior to joining Farm Lane I was a community Nurse and continuing healthcare assessor. I wanted to move my career to Care UK for a chance to learn and develop. I knew someone who worked for the organisation and they encouraged me to apply.

I love being able to build a rapport with the residents and learn about their lives, needs and preferences. That’s something you can’t always do as a nurse in other settings, but it’s such a rewarding and worthwhile aspect of my role.

The team here at Farm Lane are extremely caring, kind and supportive, so it’s been very easy to slot into the team. It’s lovely to be providing direct care again for people as I’ve been working from home in my previous role during the pandemic.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends and travelling to new places.

Our experienced teams

Every day Care UK colleagues live our values of passionate, caring and teamwork to empower residents to enjoy fulfilling lives.

Carers

Our hardworking teams always keep individuals and their families at the heart of the care they provide. We work with you to shape the care your loved one receives, the food they’re served, the activities and experiences they want to do – even the ways they prefer to keep in touch with their friends and family.

Nurses

The nurses at Care UK are highly skilled and receive sector-leading training, which enables them to keep developing expertise in different clinical fields from dementia to palliative care.

Lifestyle

Our dedicated lifestyle teams work hard to organise a range of activities and events at our home. From gardening and baking to quizzes, music sessions and even live entertainment. Above all, we get to know your loved one to make sure our activities are tailored to suit their interests and hobbies.

Home support roles

From catering to maintenance, housekeeping to administration, our home support teams play a crucial part in ensuring individuals enjoy an exceptional and safe service every day.

All our teams get to know each person they care for to ensure they provide a service that’s designed around their unique needs and tastes.

Infection control

Each of our homes have a trained Infection Control and Prevention Champion – they are responsible for carrying out daily infection control audit and ensuring cleaning protocols are meticulously applied.
