Meet our friendly care team

It is the people who make our home a truly happy and caring one, and at Salisbury Manor our experienced team of dedicated professionals all undergo our own in-depth training programme. The whole team works to make sure that residents' needs are at the heart of everything they do and that personalised care is provided.

Skye Williams

General Manager

Skye Williams

I studied Adult Nursing at Bournemouth University and joined Salisbury Manor as a registered nurse before progressing to become Home Manager.

There’s plenty that keeps me busy in my role. I love supporting the residents and listening to their stories, doing admin, and liaising with the team and ensuring they have everything they need to deliver the best care. I’m very proud of the team here at Salisbury Manor. Each colleague works with compassion and love for the residents.

Mealtimes are the best times of the day here at our Salisbury care home. Residents are socialising and enjoying the delicious food served up by our talented catering team. It’s lovely to see the smiles and interactions between residents and the team at these times.

My husband is in the army, so, outside of work, family time is very precious as he’s often away on duties. I also enjoy reading and getting lost in a book.

Suzanne Hesk
Home Admissions Advisor

I became Home Admissions Advisor at Salisbury Manor after working as Club Service Manager for another large care provider.

I meet potential residents and their families and guide them through the process of moving into Salisbury Manor, which is often one of the most difficult and stressful periods in their lives. It makes me so proud to see someone settle and flourish in the care home.

In this role, I believe it’s important to have compassion and empathy and to be transparent.

Outside of work, I enjoy interior design, upcycling furniture and taking walks with my dog, Lottie.

Tracey Pearce
Deputy Manager

I joined Salisbury Manor because I wanted to make a difference. Every day is different, and I love how Care UK ensures that residents are living fulfilling lives. It's important that we are not only respectful of each other, but also of the fact that this is the residents’ home, and it is a privilege to support them.

I qualified as a nurse in 2003 – it was such a dream. Even today I feel proud to be a nurse. I have worked in a variety of roles and gained different experiences. Before working at Salisbury Manor, I was a Deputy Ward Sister at New Hall Hospital for two years, and before that I spent 19 years at Salisbury Hospital.

I believe that to be a Deputy Manager, you need to lead by example. We are here to serve residents and make their lives fulfilled, so it’s important to be supportive and ready to listen. You also need to empower the team and help them to learn and grow.

Elaine Mitchell
Team Leader

I’ve found Care UK to be one of the best healthcare providers to work for.

Caring is the core of what we do at Salisbury Manor. I enjoy helping others – whether that’s helping a resident settle in and enjoy everything there is to offer at Salisbury Manor or encouraging a team member to be the best they can be.

You need to be caring, empathetic and have plenty of patience when working in care as a Team Leader. My favourite part of the day is interacting with the residents in a friendly and fun setting.

I was lucky to take part in training new colleagues in dementia care when working at Salisbury Manor before its refurbishment, and I’ve enjoyed training new team members during their induction days. I look forward to continuing to learn as much as possible to become the best I can be.

Raelynne Uban
Team Leader

I love the homely atmosphere at Salisbury Manor and the fact that we are given opportunities to improve our skills and enhance our careers. I’ve been able to progress from Carer to Team Leader and to take part in training opportunities, including my Level 3 and leadership training qualifications, which has given me confidence to lead and train my colleagues.

To be a Team Leader, it’s important to be caring and passionate about what you do. You need patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations, as well as good teamwork skills.

Knowing that I have helped someone who needs me and that I have improved their quality of life makes me feel fulfilled in my role. I’m proud to be able to meet people from all walks of life and to hear about their experiences, and I’m passionate about giving residents person-centred care. My favourite part of the working day is speaking to residents and building a good rapport with them so I can help them in any way possible.

When I’m not working, I enjoy travelling, watching movies and reading books.

Melody Uban
Team Leader

I’ve been working at Salisbury Manor since the care home opened.

I believe it’s important to be the best I can be in my role, to follow policies and procedures and to train and share my knowledge with newcomers. I try to be a good leader and have patience, understanding and empathy as a Team Leader.

Previously, I worked as a Senior Care Assistant. It was a huge career highlight for me when I was promoted to Team Leader. I’m proud to set a good example to my colleagues and to share my experience with others, especially those who are new to care.

I love spending time having conversations with the residents living at Salisbury Manor. I’m passionate about getting to know them well and learning about their past so I can provide care that is tailored to them as individuals.

Carers

Our hardworking teams always keep individuals and their families at the heart of the care they provide. Nurses

The nurses at Care UK are highly skilled and receive sector-leading training, which enables them to keep developing expertise in different clinical fields from dementia to palliative care.

Lifestyle

Our dedicated lifestyle teams work hard to organise a range of activities and events at our home. From gardening and baking to quizzes, music sessions and even live entertainment. Above all, we get to know your loved one to make sure our activities are tailored to suit their interests and hobbies.

All our teams get to know each person they care for to ensure they provide a service that’s designed around their unique needs and tastes.
