Here at Harrier Lodge, we provide expert residential, nursing and dementia care on both a short term and permanent basis.
By offering quality person-centred care, our teams treat your loved one as an individual. With every resident receiving an entirely personalised care plan reflecting their needs, interests and life history, we enable them to enjoy the hotel-style surroundings, living as independently as possible.
We know, however, that choosing the perfect home for your loved one can be a minefield, so we’ve prepared the following guide to the types of care offered at Harrier Lodge.
Harrier Lodge has been designed to allow older people living with dementia to enjoy a sense of identity and independence. Your loved one can engage with activities such as music, art and dance, all proven to aid reminiscence, as well as light exercise and time spent outdoors, which are beneficial for physical wellbeing.
We work closely with GPs and specialist medical professionals to tailor a specialised care plan for your loved one, which is subject to constant review. Our team is highly experienced in providing for a variety of physical conditions including stroke, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease.
At Harrier Lodge, your loved one has everything they need to enjoy an enriching lifestyle. With beautifully decorated lounges to relax in and stunning landscaped gardens to explore, residents can choose how to spend their days. Whether they want a pampering session at the in-house hair and beauty salon, enjoy a film in the luxury cinema, or socialise with friends over coffee at the café, the choice is theirs. Residents can take part in the exciting activities programme organised by the lifestyle team, which includes everything from quizzes to cooking sessions, yoga, and art classes.
Nursing dementia care
Our qualified team provides expert medical care for older people living with dementia, as well as a number of physical conditions. GPs and specialist professionals working locally help us to create a tailored plan based around your loved one’s needs.
If you would value a break from looking after a loved one at home, we provide short term respite care, allowing you to take some well-deserved time out. We also offer convalescent care during the sometimes trying transition from a hospital stay to returning home.
End of life care
As the end of your loved one’s life draws closer, we provide compassionate, palliative care, ensuring pain-free comfort and dignity. GPs and clinical professionals help us create a plan that follows you and your loved one’s wishes exactly, allowing you to focus on what matters during this emotional time.
