We help residents to stay active and independent and to enjoy every day.
At Heather View, we believe in providing the ultimate in luxury and comfort for our residents and their families. First-time visitors always comment on the home’s warm and friendly atmosphere.
On the ground floor you’ll discover a shop, a postbox, a coffee shop and tearoom, and there’s even a hair salon, library and cinema. All of these are set around an indoor ‘village green’ that really brings the care home to life. It’s a popular spot with our residents, who love spending time here with friends and family, whether enjoying lunch at the café or watching a film in the cinema.
Part of the family
We become as close to residents’ families as we do residents – they can come and visit at any time, day or night, and stay for as long as they wish. They can help with their loved one’s morning routine, have lunch or dinner with them, watch a film in the cinema – the options are endless.
The knowledge and guidance provided by a resident’s family and friends make it much easier for us to understand and care for their loved one. To make their lives easier, we help families to rediscover the richness of life with their loved one. We take on the responsibility of their loved one’s full time care, while they rediscover quality time together.
Our full time activity co-ordinators ensure that there’s always a range of activities going on at Heather View to keep residents interested and involved. We have the use of a minibus and we make the most of it, with trips to Tunbridge Wells, as well as to garden centres and to see Christmas lights in the local area. We also go to the Ashdown Forest or to the sea at Eastbourne or Brighton in the summer.
Closer to home, our location couldn’t be better as residents can walk to Crowborough high street to do some shopping, pop to the library or have a coffee. Around the home they also keep active by doing gardening, getting competitive in quizzes or having a tea dance. Baking and arts and crafts are always popular too. Whatever their abilities, we help residents to continue to enjoy lifelong interests and hobbies and to maintain the life skills they used at home.
We believe that life in a Care UK care home like Heather View should be like life in your own home – but even better. That’s why we go out of our way to make each day special for residents. Food is a big part of this, and the care home’s catering team pride themselves on producing varied and delicious meals for the most discerning appetites. Dishes are prepared from fresh ingredients and there’s always plenty of choice. Big occasions, like birthdays, anniversaries, call for special cakes and dishes, and we love throwing parties for New Year or Bonfire Night.
