At Hollins Park, we believe in making every moment meaningful for residents, whatever their needs and abilities.
We complete a life story book with every new resident which gives us invaluable insights into your loved one's past, hobbies and happiest memories.
Fulfilling activities and experiences
All the activities, outings and experiences that we do are designed around residents’ interests: they tell us the activities they enjoy and we organise them. If they wish to help around the home, we support them. If they want to join our gardening club and keep our outdoor areas looking great, they're welcome to. Knowing that one resident used to be a painter and decorator, we involved him in the design and decoration of our pub and café.
A community atmosphere
The lifestyle team at our Macclesfield care home runs a variety of group activities, including regular quizzes, games, reminiscence and entertainment from local performers. We also go out for breakfast at a local bistro, get together for afternoon tea in our own café or have a drink together in our pub. Our team also makes time to spend with your loved one doing one-to-one activities.
At Hollins Park we’ve developed close links with a nearby church and local community groups, such as the WI. School groups also come to visit to sing or do activities with residents.
Looking forward to meal times
We believe in enabling every resident to ‘dine with dignity’ – having choices about where and what they eat, and being able to do so in a supportive environment. Our dining areas are laid out restaurant-style, and meal times are always a relaxed event. Tables are attractively laid, and we use bespoke dementia-friendly cutlery and crockery to enable residents to eat as independently as possible, although we will always provide discreet support wherever it’s needed. We cater for different dietary needs, and will always create something for your loved one if nothing takes their fancy from the menu.
