I’ve worked in care for nearly two decades. I started out as a care assistant, but have been in management roles for nearly ten years. I joined Mill View because I was keen to find a new challenge. I’d been hearing a lot about the company and I liked the look and feel of Mill View when I first looked around.
In my role it’s important to listen and support your team, residents and family members. You need to be proactive and think outside the box. I enjoy helping the team to progress in their careers while ensuring that they’re delivering the best quality care. Above all, I believe that Mill View is going great things and has huge potential thanks to our brilliant, hard-working team.
I used to be a sales executive for a large corporate insurance company but I moved to Care UK because they really care about their residents. They have beautiful care homes and passionate teams and the wellbeing of residents is at the heart of everything they do.
It really matters to me that I believe my role is making a difference to someone’s life, and I have that satisfaction in my role here at Mill View. I love showing our beautiful home to members of the community and prospective residents and their families, knowing that our team can help them.
Before working for Care UK, I was a private chef for a luxury travel company and before that I was a sous chef in a fine dining restaurant. As head chef I try to balance the team’s rotas and workload to keep everything fair and the kitchen a happy working space. My favourite part of working at Mill View is being able to create fun and fresh menus for the people we provide care for.
I am a chef at heart and love to cook up tasty food for people to enjoy. At home I still like to cook in a relaxed environment to continue to further my skills. When not cooking or eating I also play the saxophone.
The Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Champion’s role is to establish and maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness so that residents and colleagues in the home are kept safe. They ensure that all colleagues are well trained in infection control and are on hand to ensure the team are working to the highest standards.
