Food and dining

The talented chef-led catering team at the home create delicious and nutritious menus tailored to individual tastes.

Meal times and enjoying great food is a highlight of each day at Mountbatten Grange. At Care UK we employ the very best chefs, many of whom have worked in the country’s top hotels and restaurants. However, all of them have been trained to meet the needs of older people living with dementia and dysphagia (a condition that causes difficulty in swallowing).

Our chefs will meet with your loved one when they first move in to learn about the foods and drink they love. That way, they can create menus that include their favourite dishes as well as more exotic fayre to tempt their tastebuds. The team will cater for all tastes, diets and cultural requirements, and adapt dishes wherever necessary to meet individual needs.

A daily highlight

Residents can expect plenty of choice at meal times and at least two hot main course options at every main meal. The team will also regularly change the menus to keep meal times interesting.

At all our homes we believe in creating the best possible dining experience for every resident. All tables in our bistro-style dining rooms will be laid with crisp table linen and residents are able to sit wherever they wish. Friends or family members are also more than welcome to join for a meal. Every resident is supported to dine independently as far as possible. We’ll have specially designed crockery and cutlery to enable any residents with vision impairments or mobility issues to enjoy their food independently. However, carers will always be on hand to provide one-to-one help wherever it’s needed.

We also understand that appetites and taste buds change with age, so residents will be able to help themselves to drinks and healthy snacks at any time of the day or night.
