At Mowat Court, we design activities around the individual needs and interests of residents.
We believe that, when your loved one is supported to keep busy, doing activities they enjoy and that give them a sense of purpose, they will feel secure and happy. We therefore encourage our residents, whatever their abilities, to engage in whatever activity is meaningful for them. Some people like to help with small tasks around the home or in the garden. Others enjoy the many activities we organise.
A choice of activities every day
At Mowat Court we understand the importance of socialising. We encourage residents to mix in small, socially distanced groups within the home and garden, where they are welcome to relax, or if they’d prefer, to engage in the lifestyle programme.
Our dedicated lifestyle team work hard to organise a range of activities each week so your loved one always has something to look forward to and get involved with. Popular socially distanced group activities include arts and crafts, baking, music, gentle exercise and film afternoons.
Mowat Court also has its own pet cockatiel and budgies, which residents help to care for.
Designed for residents
Many of our residents are living with dementia and like to explore the home in their own time. We’ve created themed areas so they can always enjoy meaningful experiences, whether they’re trying on the hats and jewellery at the dressing table, exploring the work bench or tidying papers in the office area.
Fine food and fun times
Mealtimes are always social occasions at Mowat Court, with a choice of dishes that includes residents’ favourites. We cater for all dietary needs, including soft and fortified diets, and support residents to eat at their own pace. As well as our bistro-style dining rooms, we also offer in-room dinning for resident who may prefer to or need additional distancing.
