Ponteland Manor came of age on the 8th of September 2015 and to celebrate their milestone the staff held a party for residents, relatives, the local community and visiting professionals.
The celebrations began at 2pm with a toast to the home, along with party food and a fabulous chocolate fountain. Ponteland Manor activities coordinator Emma Garside, embarked on a labour of love using skills from her previous life as a chef, and set out to bake a replica mini Ponteland Manor care home. Home manager Andrea Blades and Regional Manager Karen Morrison had the honour of cutting the cake to a round of applause.
Home manager Andrea said “What a wonderful day! There was a great atmosphere of celebration throughout the home. It was great to see the pleasure and excitement on the faces of all the residents, their relatives and the care team as the day unfolded, so much so that everybody has been talking about it since. I’d like to personally thank Julie from Vision Call and Community Matron Julie Cummings for their gifts”
