A day at the races

May 31st 2012

As horses play such a major part in the lives of the Royal Family, Forrester Court staged a special horse “race” to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

We held the event along with an afternoon tea garden party which we organised as part of our celebrations.

We started our preparations for the Diamond Jubilee by making horses during our arts and crafts sessions with the help of some of our very supportive relatives.

Residents and staff decorated the garden and the entrance with bunting and also mapped out the horse race tracks.

We ran a qualifying race and Sue Ann Jones, our manager presented medals to everyone who participated and won a position in the final race.
