Afternoon tea raises cash for Dementia UK

March 2nd 2012

A special afternoon tea event at Mowat Court helped to raise funds for Dementia UK as part of Time for a Cuppa day.

Time for a Cuppa was about bringing people together across the country to hold an event at home, in the workplace or in the community to help raise much-needed funds to support the work of Dementia UK, a charity dedicated to improving life for people with dementia.

The event involved a get together in each of our units and the event was organised by our events co-ordinator Danielle Porter.

Mowat Court is a vibrant home where everyone is encouraged to get involved and take part. Some residents like to help with the cleaning, while others take pleasure in weeding the flower beds, or feeding the chickens in the garden. One resident even helped to build the chicken run! Everyone enjoys getting together for the regular social events including coffee mornings and summer barbeques.
