Ambleside welcomed the local community for a teddy bear’s picnic to celebrate Care Home Open Day.
The team at Ambleside opened the doors to the care home for a free family-friendly event organised in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
Residents were joined by local children from the Monkey Puzzle Nursery for a traditional teddy bear’s picnic, complete with party games and live music from Carpenter’s tribute act, the Sound of Karen. Visitors also tucked into afternoon tea especially prepared by head chef Lisa Morris.
Clare Mudge, home manager at Ambleside, said: “We had a wonderful afternoon celebrating Care Home Open Day with the local community. The event was a brilliant opportunity to break down preconceptions about care home life and showcase the warm and welcoming care environment here at Ambleside.
“The residents loved interacting with the children from Monkey Puzzle Nursery and taking part in the festivities, and everyone commented how much they enjoyed the celebration. We look forward to welcoming the people of Stratford-upon-Avon to join us again very soon.”
