Buchanan Court was joined by the local community for a special event to mark the home’s first birthday.
To celebrate the milestone, the team at Buchanan Court on Sudbury Hill hosted a masquerade ball. Residents and visitors “dressed to impress” and sported homemade masks and fascinators, which were later judged by Buchanan Court’s home manager Ruth Halls.
Guests also tapped their feet to live entertainment from singer Andrea Queens, as well as enjoying a saxophone performance by Kevin Haynes, which kept the party atmosphere going all afternoon. To top off the day, residents and visitors were treated to an assortment of delicious cocktails andcanapés specially prepared by Buchanan Court’s chefs.
Ruth Hall, home manager at Buchanan Court, said: “It was wonderful to see so many members of the local community join us to toast our special milestone. The whole team worked hard to organise the event, and I am delighted to say that their efforts were rewarded – our birthday party will definitely be one to remember for years to come. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who joined us for making the day extra special.
“It’s been a busy year. We’ve welcomed some real characters to the home, built relationships with brilliant local organisations, and worked hard to create a real home-from-home environment for everyone who spends time with us here at Buchanan Court. We’re excited to see what’s in store for the next few years!”
